Math Game Monday in 5/6 B

On Monday May 30th we held our monthly Tiger Success Awards. This month we were focussing on the "Integrity" character attribute.
We define Integrity as: "We do what is right for ourselves and others. We demonstrate values and ethnics that are good for all. We speak directly, clearly, and respectfully."
Nine students were identified by their teachers to receive this month's certificate.
Summer Skills Camp
Loyalist College will be hosting a skills camp for gr. 7&8's. July 11th-15th.
"Dinosaur Lady" Visit
On Wednesday May 25th, Betsy, "The Dinosaur Lady" visited our Kindergarten class. The students were enthralled with the activities that she brought which included roll playing, crafts and art. Students even had the chance to dig for "Chickenosaurus Bones" on the school yard!
During the visit covered many of the various dinosaur species, the time periods and typical habitats in which they lived and she provided a wealth of visual materials for the children to absorb.

School Group Track and Field
On Thursday May 26th, over 60 Queen Elizabeth students participated in the School Group Track and Field meet at CML Snider school in Wellington.
It was an excellent day for our athletes as 15 qualified for the district meet by finishing in the top 2! We are very proud of all of our students who particiated fairly and safely.
Thanks to the Mrs. Carroll and Madame Monika for coaching the team and to Mr. Plancke for volunteering his time to help.
Fun Fair 2016
On Thursday May 20th we held our annual Fun Fair. This was a fantastic event that was organized by our School Council.
Nearly 150 people enjoyed the fun which included a rock climbing wall, bouncy castle, barbeque, games and the penny auction.
We are grateful for the parents, students and staff who volunteered during the fun fair. We could not have done it without you!
Problem Solving in Grade 4/5 C
Mrs. Carroll's class has been working on problem solving strategies this spring.
The have been learning to use different methods and processes to find their way through difficult math problems.
They are also learning to collaborate with each other to ensure that they have a correct solution.
