Terry Fox Walk
Terry Fox’s dream was to run across Canada, to raise money for cancer research. His goal was to run over 8,000 km from the east coast of Canada to the west coast of Canada. He named his run, The Marathon of Hope and started it on April 12, 1980. He ran for 143 days and was then forced to stop because the cancer returned. Now every year, more than 8,000 schools across Canada hold a Terry Fox Run to help Terry’s dream for a world without cancer come true.
This year, we will be holding our annual Terry Fox Walk on October 7th. Over the next 2 weeks we will be holding our Toonies for Terry campaign and asking all students to bring a toonie to donate to the Terry Fox Foundation.
We've also set up an online donation page where you can made your donation directly: http://www.terryfox.ca/QueenElizabethPSPictonON

Students in 7Y were learning to think critically while working collaboratively to save poor Sammy the Worm. Students had to retrieve Sammy's life jacket from beneath his capsized boat and assist him in getting it on to ensure his survival. Thank goodness everyone was successful and no lives were lost.
Organizing Solutions in 2/3 H
Students in Ms. Hymus's grade 2/3 class had a big challenge this week in math class.
While working with a partner they got to practice using the Problem Solving Steps they'd been learning about in class. The real challenge came when they had to decide how to organize their answers in a meaningful way.
After discussing and negotating they shared and described their final solutions for their classmates.
